Every September, St. John the Evangelist of Fenton hosts Applefest, one of the largest fall festivals in Michigan. This event attracts over 35,000 visitors to enjoy our food, entertainment, games, rides, and apple pie! Apples figure prominently throughout Applefest. We have apple dumplings, apple cider, frozen apple cider, apple crisp, and apple pie. Each year we sell in excess of 2,600 pies baked fresh with apples purchased from area orchards.
Fenton Michigan's St. John Parish Applefest has been a Fenton community favorite for over 50 years. Friends, neighbors and families gather each fall for old-fashioned fun! Local moms, grandmas, aunts and cousins compete with their best recipes in the annual Apple Pie Baking contest, while the kids enjoy carnival rides. Bingo, Texas Hold’em tournaments, raffles and live music keep the fun going all weekend long with over 1,000 baked apple pies - served and sold! For more information visit fentonbecloser.com.
Thank you for your patience and understanding of the necessary changes to our annual Applefest. The Coronavirus pandemic over the last 16 months has not only impacted the health and well-being of far too many individuals, but it has played havoc with the planning of so many events in Michigan, including Applefest.
The decision to modify Applefest for 2021 again was not taken lightly. Our Chairman, Volunteers and Corporate Sponsors invite you to participate in Applefest 2021 by supporting the following Applefest events that will take place this year:
