Classic Car Show

August 13, 2022 - downtown Stanton

The annual Car Show and Cruise Night has become a main event since its start in 1986 with about 50 cars on display. Since then, this event has continued to grow, attracting hundreds of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles to our city each summer. This year Stanton Old Fashioned Days is proud to announce that Bookwalter Chevrolet, the local Chevy dealer in Stanton, is sponsoring the event and is upping the stakes with a $1000 best of show award and a $500 runner up award. Plus, they will be having giveaway drawings every 10 minutes throughout the entire show.

If you are a car or motorcycle enthusiast, or simply enjoy looking at fabulous cars, trucks and motorcycles, Downtown Stanton on Saturday from 2 to 6:30 P.M. is the place to be. Grown men and women turn into children as they walk up and down the street admiring one car after another, picturing their dream car and reminiscing about the past. Have a vehicle you want to show-off? Spend the afternoon in Stanton and make this year’s car show even bigger and better. Registration is from 11:00 to 2:30 P.M. on the corner of Bradford Street and N. M-66 (N. State Street). There is a $20 registration fee. Enter on Pine Street (on the north end of town), turn south onto Court Street and turn west on Bradford (follow the car show registration signs).

M-66 becomes the staging area for the vehicles while waiting to move onto Main Street after the Parade. You may temporarily leave your show car and watch the parade or walk the street to see what is happening around town until the parade is over; then you will move your car onto Main Street. For registrations after 2:00 P.M., enter Main Street from the corner of Court Street and Main St. The registration booth will then be located in front of Chemical Bank. Upon registration, each vehicle owner can fold out their lawn chairs, sit back, and chat with the many visitors that stroll past to admire their pride and joy, while enjoying the music piped up and down the street.

Dash plaques and goodie bags will be given to the first 150 cars registered and every vehicle will be entered to win door prize drawings. This year’s Car Show will be judged for the 40 best entries. Best of show will win $1000.00 cash and the runner up will receive $500.00. After the show is over, car show participants are invited to partake in a cruise through Downtown Stanton so onlookers can hear and see everything that was brought to town.
