Lovells Museum of Trout Fishing

The Lovells Museum of Trout Fishing History is Michigan's ONLY trout fishing museum and preserves, exhibits, and interprets the history of trout and fly fishing in Lovells Township, the AuSable River, and in Michigan. The museum is located in the small village of Lovells on the North Branch of the AuSable River. The AuSable was one of the last waters of the grayling, one the earliest popular rivers for trout fishing, and the home of Trout Unlimited. Exhibits include the extinction of the grayling, the creation of Trout Unlimited, fly rods, trout flies, and more. The museum features an annual changing exhibit. The museum is operated by the Lovells Township Historical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
