Sponsored by the Freeland Lions Club, the 35th Annual Freeland Walleye Festival featuring a myriad of activities for all ages! Activities include Kids' Fishing Pond, a Texas Hold 'em Tournament, a Carnival, Rummage Sales, Car Show, Fish Fry, Disc Golf and much more! Locations are throughout Freeland including Burt Watson Chevrolet.
Our mission as the Freeland Lions Club is to provide fun events for our Community to attend while raising money to give back to the community in the form of scholarships, donations to local groups such as the Boy Scouts, Athletic teams, Camp Quality, Diabetes Research, the Leader Dog Program, Michigan Eye Bank, Paws for a Cause, Veterans groups, community improvements, and other free events.
If you’ve been to ANY of the parks in Freeland, you’ve seen some of the improvements to the community our club has done and continue to do every year. Being a non-profit organization, any money we collect beyond covering our expenses goes right back into the community. We have no paid positions in our organization and pay membership fees that also is used to help those in need.
The Freeland Lions Club continues moving forward with pride, dignity, and a great commitment to our community. Our success is largely based on the group of members whose hard work and determination along with the great business sponsors and community organizations make Freeland one of the best places to live not only in Michigan, but anywhere.
