Calling all Runners and Race Walkers! If you're looking for a fun race event to kick off the summer, the Rock & Run Half Marathon and 5k race in St. Ignace is it!
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the half marathon and followed by the 5k run/walk at 9:00 a.m., both races will start and finish at the Star Line Railroad dock, downtown St. Ignace. The half marathon course will take you through and around various areas of St. Ignace, with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Mackinac Island! The course is flat and fast, with a couple of hills thrown in for kicks.
Music will be provided by local musicians at the starting area to get your energy pumping. You will also hear music at various points throughout the race to keep you moving and to help you cross that finish line. Let's not forget about the spectators along the route to cheer you on!!! This will be a fun filled event for all ages and all levels of both runners and walkers.
Every participant will receive a t-shirt and swag bag. All half marathon athletes will take home a finisher's medal. Awards will be given to overall Male and Female in the half marathon, 5K run and the 5K walk, as well as to the top three male and female in each age category:
13 & Under; 14 - 19; 20 - 29; 30 -39; 40 - 49; 50 - 59;
60 - 69; and 70 & Up.
