How-To Halloween is a family-friendly festival that celebrates creativity, imagination and the innovative spirit of the frightfully fun holiday season. Discover a wicked wonderland of interactive exhibits, unique vendors, spookalicious food and amazing entertainment! Our mission is to inspire kids and the ‘kids at heart’ to get goose bumps for the creative process as they explore the many hands-on activities, how-to sessions and immersive experiences.
The robo-tastic theme for our ninth annual event is a showcase of the incredible technological world of ROBOTS including actual engineering marvels along with stunning recreations from science fiction. The brainiacs from Waverly High Robotics Club will be providing demonstrations of their student-built mechanical monster, and you can meet the droids from Star Wars, the Autobots from Transformers, and many more special cybernetic guests from across the pop culture universe.
There is also trick-or-treating for the kids, costume contests with big prizes, and appearances by all of your favorite cosplay characters. And when the light begins to fade, the Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk returns as a horde of the undead invades the city on their way to the Capitol Building for a corpse-tacular photo op in support of the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
How-To Halloween has an exciting new format and location for 2023! We are thrilled to announce that we’ve teamed up with Impression 5 Science Center for an enhanced outdoor festival experience which is now FREE to attend! Everyone is invited to enjoy all the outside attractions and festivities happening in the i5 parking lot for absolutely NO COST. (Please note that regular fees apply for special indoor programming and admission into Impression 5 Science Center).
So mark your calendar, tell your friends and get your costume ready for a monstrous day on Saturday October 7th from 11am-6pm on the grounds of Impression 5 Science Center. See you there!
